Authors Note: This is my first fic, (well, that I was gutsy enough to post, anyway). Just a little ditty I was forced to share, lol. Feedback is appreciated, even if its to tell me not to write anymore, or to encourage me to write more fic. I can only get better... hopefully ;) Also, even though Riley is mentioned in this fic, hes pretty much a non-issue.

Authors Note (2): I posted this awhile back to the B/G Yahoo Groups, but it just occured to me I didnt post it here yet, so enjoy.

"Well it looks like another blustery day in Sunnydale, as temperatures remain in the twenties and snow continues to fall..."

Willow shut the radio off as the weatherman spoke of the same conditions for the past 3 days.

"Its California, it's not supposed to snow. Not unless there's some impending Apocalypse or something."

Buffy sat up and absentmindedly ran her fingers through her golden blonde hair.

"Well, maybe something is coming. I bet Giles would know. Ooh, maybe I should go over there and ask him!" She said with a grin.

Willow went over to the bed and sat down across from Buffy.

"Or you can just go there for no reason at all and just spend time with him. Besides if something was really up, then he would've called or gotten hold of us somehow."

As if on cue, the telephone rang. Buffy groaned and looked at Willow with a "you just had to say it" glare, and picked up the phone.

"Hello?"

"Buffy!"

"Hey Giles, what's up?" She glanced at Willow again, who grinned sheepishly.

"Ah, well I was hoping I could speak to you in person."

Buffys brow furrowed.

"I-is something wrong? Something's coming isn't it? An Apocalypse! I knew it! It had to be snowing for-"

"Buffy!" Giles cut in.

"Yeah?"

"As far as I know, there is no Apocalypse at the moment. I- I just wanted to see you is all. Th-that is if you don't have plans already."

Buffy's eyebrows rose, and she looked at Willow, bouncing in eagerness.

"U-um, no, I don't have plans, I'm plan-less."

"Splendid, then would you meet me at the Expresso Pump in about two hours, say, seven o'clock?"

"Sure, see ya then, Giles."

She hung up and bounced up and down, laughing giddly.

Willow hit her arm.

"Well? What happened?!"

Buffy fell back onto her pillows and sighed happily.

"I'm meeting Giles at seven at the Expresso Pump"

Willow grinned widely and laughed at the dazed look on Buffy's face.

"See? I told you he didn't see you as just his slayer."

The smile on Buffy's face slowly faded.

"Well, it's not like he asked me out on a date, I mean he did say he wanted to see me in person, but that doesn't mean it's a good. I bet there's bad news and he feels he has to tell me in person. What if-"

"Buffy, don't you think Giles just wants to spend time with you? I mean you have a whole year to make up for-"

"-and that's my fault. I know." Buffy added.

"Anyway," Willow spoke, "this turned kinda depressing, so I gotta ask something."

Buffy eyed her wearily.

"And this question would be...."

"Well, judging by the look on your face when you said its not a date, does that mean that you would want to date him, or that you do already?"

Buffy sighed and hugged a pillow to her chest.

"Can you keep a secret?"

Willow rolled her eyes.

"Duh, I'm only your best friend!"

Buffy half smiled.

"Well, last year, I never told you the reason I stopped talking to Giles, or well, barely talked to him"

Willow looked at her, urging her to go on.

"When I went to his apartment during that whole Sunday fiasco, he was there, looking all sexy in that Hugh Hef' robe. But, he wasn't alone."

Willow nodded, slowly piecing it together.

"Olivia?"

"Olivia." Buffy confirmed.

"Oh, but Buffy-"

"No it gets worse. I was so mad at him, only I didn't know why at the time and I told him he was very old and that it was gross."

Willow gasped and her eyes widened in shock.

"Buffy!"

Buffy screwed her eyes shut.

"I know, I know! I shouldn't have said that to him. It was mean and rude, and I sounded so childish, and that only made it more embarrassing. And I guess after that, things just weren't the same. But then I realized why I was so mad. It's 'cause I wanted to be with him. And I wanted him to be with me, not her."

Willow nodded again.

"Is that why you slept with Parker? And then Olivia was here during that whole gentlemen thing, so does that explain why you finally went for Riley?"

Buffy nodded miserably.

Willow patted her shoulder softly.

"So now what? I mean obviously you and Giles are close again, what with the getting together without needing some reason, particularly a reason having to do with slayage. Maybe you should tell him how you feel."

Buffy shook her head.

"I don't know, I mean, me and Giles just clicked again, and I don't want anything to ruin that."

"Yeah, but things could be better, you never know. He never looked too happy when Riley was around." Willow paused and grinned knowingly. "In fact, when he found out that Riley was part of the Initiative and that you were with them, he didn't exactly hide his reaction."

Buffy sighed.

"Was he mad?"

Willow scoffed.

"Totally! He was going on and on, about Riley and you not telling him, and what exactly is a fishwife anyway? 'Cause he referred to Ms Walsh as that, so I'm guessing, not exactly a good."

Buffy grinned.

"Jealous, huh?"

"Seemed like it!"

"Hmm, well maybe..."

"Go for it, Buff. Seize the day. Just, don't hurt him. If this is just some passing thing, then let it go, but if you're serious, then yay! You have no idea how long I've waited for this."

Buffy raised an eyebrow and smiled.

"You've waited! Imagine how I feel!"
