LATE IN THE NIGHT, GILES’ FLAT

She had promised to stop by after her patrol, but, like every other time, she didn't.

The music finished, and Giles was completely depressed, "Oh Buffy, if only you would talk to me. I'm so alone without you; I love you so much." Remembering a little of the lyrics, Giles was so involved in his sadness, that he missed the shadow looking at him by the window…

THE NEXT EVENING AT THE PUMP

"Where's Buffy ?" asked Willow with an exasperate tone, "she missed Giles, again, and she promised, no, swore, that she would be here tonight."

"It's not like it's the first time Will," said Xander, "but I would like to know what she could say this time to excuse her absence. Giles will be so sad."

During this time, Giles finished his show and came to the table of four.

"Humm Giles…"

"I know Willow, she's not here."

"Sorry, maybe she had…"

"Don't, please, just don't."

"Alright. But Giles, she missed something, believe us, you were great tonight. Well, not like you're not always great, but…"

"Honey, you're rambling," Tara said with a smile.

"Thanks," said a red Willow.

"Willow's right, and I think you were sexy too."

"Anya!"

"What, Xander, I’m right," said Anya, shrugging her shoulders.

"Hum, well thanks Willow and Anya, I think," Giles blushed a little after Anya's remark.

Xander looked at the stage without really believing what he saw. "Euh, G-man, I think you should look at the stage."

"Xander, I already told you, don't call me like that"

"All right, but like I told you, you should look at the stage because I don't know if I really see what I'm seeing"

With his last comment, everyone looked at the stage, and astonishment was visible on their faces.

"Tell me that I'm dreaming," said Willow.

"No you’re not, it's Buffy," Anya said.

Giles looked at Buffy and waited to see what she had prepared.

ON THE STAGE

"Hi all, it's the first time I’ve done this so…" Buffy said with a shy tone, "before I begin, I would like to dedicate this song to the man I love."

'The man I love,' Giles thought, and sadness crossed his face; with those words, all his hope was gone.

"And I would like to tell him talk to me, that I'm so alone without you, and I love you so much."

'What, wait a minute…' Giles was looking at her with a complete surprise. 'It's not possible, it can't…"

Her eyes never left Giles’, and four people noticed this and grinned at each other with joy, even if they didn't know exactly why..

Giles continued looking at her with half hope and half fear, fear that disappeared totally (or almost, because it was very hard to believe) to pure joy when he recognized the music.

The music began and Buffy sang, but her eyes were never off of Giles.

Talk to me, tell me that you love me, and that you'll never leave me.
Talk to me, tell me that you love me, and that you'll never leave me.
Talk to me, tell me that you love me, and that you'll never leave me.
Talk to me, tell me that you love me, and that you'll never leave me.

Talk to me, talk to me.
Talk to me like you’re the only girl, talk to me, in this whole wide world.
Talk to me like you’re the only one, talk to me, tell me what has love done.

Imagine a boy, imagine a girl.
Imagine the hearts, that are broken by the world.
Don't pass me by like a stranger, don't shackle love there's no danger.
Don't leave me here all alone, oh.
Talk to me, talk to me, t-a-l-k, t-a-l-k.

Talk to me, tell me that you love me, and that you'll never leave me.
Talk to me, tell me that you love me, and that you'll never leave me.
Talk to me, tell me that you love me, and that you'll never leave me.
Talk to me, tell me that you love me, and that you'll never leave me.

Don't pass me by like a stranger, don't shackle love there's no danger.
Don't leave me here, all alone. So alone, I'm alone. Oh.....
Talk to me, talk to me, t-a-l-k, t-a-l-k.
Imagine a boy, imagine a girl.
Imagine the hearts, that are broken by the world.
T-a-l-k, t-a-l-k, t-a-l-k, t-a-l-k, talk to me.
Darlin' talk to me.

At the end of the song, Giles couldn't move and closed his eyes. A part of him was full of love and hope and wanted to go to her, hold her, kiss her, but, a little part was held by fear, fear that he misunderstood her, that…his thoughts were interrupted by someone who was kissing him. 'Wait, kissing!' he opened his eyes to see Buffy. She pulled away and said, "Giles, kiss me please; I love you. I'm in love with you," and, with that, she kissed him again. Giles smiled, kissed her back, and held her.

After a moment they pulled away, but Giles hadn't any intention of letting go of Buffy, who sat in his lap.

"I love you, Buffy, so much."

"I know, and I love you too, Giles."

"I think we understand Buff, and we're happy for you but, we are still here," said Xander with a grin.

Giles and Buffy looked at each other, a little blush on their faces, and at the four people at the table with a smile – four people happy for Buffy and Giles.

Now, nobody will be alone…
